Asheville North Carolina and The Grove Park Inn has earned an international reputation as a premier health resort. In the 1920s, Asheville’s distinguished community was host of many rich and famous, including Henry Ford, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Thomas Edison.
Today’s visitors to Asheville find an era in history. Visit the Biltmore House a true testament to human ingenuity. The Biltmore is America’s largest home, George Vanderbilt built the 250-room home in 1913. Asheville’s oldest home is a 1840 Smith McDowell House now a Museum. Inspiration for his novel “Look Homeward, is also here the acclaimed author’s boyhood home. Now it is the Thomas Wolfe Memorial.
The architecture of downtown Asheville North Carolina was constructed by the same craftsmen who built The Biltmore House. Asheville is second to Miami Beach Fl. to the extent of it’s Art deco architecture.
